If I could put an actual dream come true into a photography session.. it would be this! Jenny reached out to me to see if I could come do their maternity pictures at a resort they were staying at in Utah. When I realized that resort was Amangiri, I did everything in my power to make it happen! The scenery, lighting, and architecture at this place is absolutely unreal.
Now, the effort put into making this session happen was not minimal to say the least!!
I had sessions the same week that they were staying there and there was only one single day that I could possibly make it work. Amangiri is about a 5.5 hour drive down south from where I’m at. I ended up taking a flight early the morning of the session to Saint George. Then I rented a car and drove about 2 ish hours to the resort. I did the session in all it’s glory and then drove back to Saint George late that same day. And then flew back home veryyyy early the next morning. But.. let me tell you something… This session.. 1000000% worth it!
To top it all off, Danny pulled me aside while Jenny was getting ready. He said, very casually, “By the way, I’m going to propose. Can you get some pictures of that?” Like that sentence didn’t just teleport me to another world with my excitement. He planned a sunset tour for them and I was just going to take some pretty pictures of the couple but now…
Now it was a proposal.
We were drive out to this gorgeous area, surrounded by mountains and sunshine and completely isolated. We walked up to a cliffside and there was a little picnic laid out. So many gorgeous details that just made it all that much better. The sun was starting to set, we started taking some pictures, then Danny got down on one knee and proposed!!
It was such a beautiful session and moment and I’m so lucky to have been the person to capture it for them!
*A little fun tidbit.. Justin Bieber was staying at this resort just the day before I got there and Kylie Jenner was there at the same time!
