Here’s a good piece of advice to my fellow photographers.. Create your own styled shoot!
It is so easy to get burnt out doing the same type of photoshoots over and over. Although I truly love each one, sometimes I need something different than the norm! It’s sometimes hard to convince people to do a type of shoot that you don’t necessarily have example images of or haven’t done before.
So, I’d say a couple times a year, I find models, pick out outfits, book studios if I need to and style my ideal shoot. Something that feeds my artistic soul! Well, this was one of them from last year that I’ve finally gotten around to blogging!
I loved the idea of doing a cozy, casual maternity shoot indoors. I’d seen a few other photographers doing shoots similar and I was just dying to create my own! I last minute decided to do this blue backdrop for some of the photos and it was so stunning and some of my favorite photos!
So that’s my advice to you! Do the shoot you want. Even if you have to pay out of your own pocket a little. Even if you don’t get paid at all for the shoot. It boosts your creativity, business, and happiness to be able to do something completed curated by you!
