I make it a goal, at least once a year, to make sure I continue my education somehow as a photographer. This year, 2022, I decided I wanted to mentor one-on-one with none other than.. Hannah Mann!
I have admired her soft, whimsical, film look for years and decided I just had to learn from her. So I set up the session and made a trip with my family out to Boise, Idaho so she could teach me all her tips and tricks!
Of course, the weekend we planned to be up there, we had a HUGE rain/thunder storm come through. The forecast showed it would be raining every. single. day that we were there. I couldn’t waste the opportunity though so we switched around what we needed to and used Hannah’s studio space when there was actual rain.
I was honestly shocked at how light and airy the images came out, regardless of the dark, cloudy skies. I was able to learn so much about lighting, angling, posing, working with film. It was such a great mentoring session all around!
I’m so excited to start utilizing everything I’ve learned in all my future sessions!
